Prior to inception, this endeavor has always been a special
journey for a multitude of reasons. One of many is the focus
on being more than just a for-profit oriented food manufacturer.
Instead we are more focused on the triple bottom line, which
accounts for the interests of society, the environment and of
course shareholders, or more specifically, generating a profit.
Thus, we prefer to characterize ourselves as a socially conscious,
environmentally aware enterprise.
Though 2023 is our first year in business and we are at the
beginning of laying down the foundation for our multifaceted
journey. One of our current objectives is to lend a helping
hand to organizations that are pursuing a social cause. Most
especially in light of the economic uncertainty and hardship
that has impacted the lives of many in the United States and
abroad. To that end we have decided that our first social pledge
will come in form of donating a proportion of all proceeds from
the sale of our food products to support the National Breast
Cancer Foundation (NBCF). You will also see the following message
displayed on most of our food products - "Proud Supporter of
the National Breast Cancer Foundation."
The reasons for supporting the NBCF are both personal as well
as in recognition of how their body of work, contributions and
efforts have made a positive impact on the lives of all those
coping with breast cancer. Not to mention how the spillover
effect from those efforts have eased the burden carried by all
those who are caring for, and providing emotional support to
their loved ones living with breast cancer (like our founder's mother).
In closing, while in the short-term our pledges will be predominately
focused on social causes and extending support to other social
cause-oriented organizations. In the future we plan to expand
our horizon and our pledges to take into account environmental
stewardship. With support coming in many forms that include
internally managed initiatives and programs as well as partnering
with other environmentally-focused organizations, local
initiatives and programs.
